There was a time when the Imperial Russia was ruled by the Tsars of the dynasty of Romanovs. Three hundred years their reign lasted, filled with glory, splendor, power and immense wealth. But above all that they were just people, with human faults and human feelings. Thi si the place where you can re-live some of their stories.

:tighthug: :iconsnuggleplz:  I simply love Russia's history. I would die of emotion to visit Russia and see Romanov's palace (if it's still there)

That country is a dream !

I have some old, old photos of Alexander III. They are the type, where they had to use sliver-nitrate to take the picture. Like the ones you go and get taken, that look old. I am scared to scan them. A photographer told me, the scan light would wash them out, and expose the old sliver, and destroy the picture. Does any one know this for certain? I'd really like to post them, for the world to see; I am pretty certain, no one in a very long time has seen them. I do not know if they are originals, or copies. But they are REAL photographs.

If scanning the silver-nitrate photos is bad for them, try taking a photo of them and using a photo editing program to fix contrast and whatnot.

I have found a negative making table. You can take an image, reverse the color to make a film neg. THEN I can get a film scanner and scan them into the computer. I have SOOOO many old Romanov Pics. A family member, and Russian Count, in the court of Alexander III and Nicholas II... I have three trunks, of so many photographs... I am certain they are worth money... but, I want to be certain I can copy them, and not destroy the original. While I work in video and TV, I am in need of a film professional, so I can archive them so people can see them again!

That sounds like a great idea! Hopefully you find someone who can safely make negatives of the images. I'd like to see the photos on here sometime. By the way, who was the family member in the Russian court?

I think things would have been better if the Romanovs never fell.
